Owner of the honey pot faces huge backlash

Recently Target released a commercial with Beatrice Dixon, owner of The Honey Pot. A company that sells a variety of sanitary and hygienic items for women.  In the commercial Dixon said, "It's important for honey pot to do well, so the next black girl that comes up with a great idea, can have a great opportunity".
After this commercial aired Dixon received backlash from non-women of color.  Who felt left out when Dixon made her statement regarding black girls. Personally, I don't think she was wrong. People and women of all colors need to be able to admire to role models who look like they do.
As a result all of Dixon's "The Honey Pot" products have been selling out. Shelves have been left empty, and even the website is sold out.  Everything is on back order.  Her supporters showed up and showed out.

Today is national period day. While we have made some strides pertaining to our menstrual cycles. We still have a long way to go. From understanding that conditions like endometriosis or fibroids is more than just a "bad period".  To hopefully one day soon stopping the tax on women sanitary items. Happy National Period Day!

ENDOMETRIOSIS NEWS GABRIELLE UNION OPENS UP ABOUT ADENOMYOSIS

A few months ago actress Gabrielle Union was featured on the Doctor Oz show. Where she bravely revealed her battle with infertility. After suffering many miscarriages she later found out she had adenomyosis. Which could have been the underlying cause of her miscarriages and infertility.

Adenomyosis is very similar to endometriosis. Except the endometrium breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus. Basically fusing itself to the uterine wall. Cases of he disease often end in a hysterectomy. Due to the fact that it can't just be removed by excision unlike endometriosis. It can also cause infertility. Which is exactly what's going on with Gabrielle Union.

I am elated that she has been transparent about her struggles as a woman. We need more women to be open about gynecological conditions. In hopes to end the stigma that exists surrounding women health conditions. I believe that if we have to be more open about what we are experiencing. Whether it's pain, infertility, hormonal imbalances, stress, then maybe we can find more answers and supporters to advocate for us. So that the young girls now, who may go through this can have quick and accurate diagnosis and better treatment options. Subscribe to be noticed of new posts!

New Youtube Vlog!

Hi endo-sisters! There is a new youtube vlog posted. In this episode, we go to the local farmers market. To get some fresh locally grown vegetables. I also wanted a few snacks, as I prepare to give up certain foods again. Yes, some vegan snacks are included in that. As some plant based ingredients still cause a lot on inflammation, due to my endometriosis. Which makes me more sensitive to some foods than others.

So follow me as I visit these local places. Click here to watch. Don't forget to subscribe! Follow on instagram @myendometriosisdiary

Hi there Loves, today is throw back Thursday. I'm taking it back to another warm day. On which I was craving ice cream. I've felt less limited in recent years with my eating regimen. So I went to the store, and grabbed my favorite vegan, dairy, soy, and gluten free ice cream, Coconut Bliss vanilla with salted caramel, and chocolate . I even bought the ice cream cones. My endometriosis awareness month

Hi Love's. As of lately I've been experiencing ovarian cysts ruptures. At least four since the new year. I wanted to share that with my sisters, being transparent. I know that I have to do better. Busy day to day life is no excuse for not being fully on top on my regimen. Even though it has been completely plant based more recently than ever.
Yet, I have been over indulging in "vegan/plant based junk food". Honestly sad to say. I am grateful that the cysts are rupturing without medical intervention. That means no surgical removal. That is still a sign of progress for me. I am going to get back to being mostly raw plant based. I will continue to update you all on my progress.  I appreciate you for still reading these blogs.

Taking control of endometriosis through diet

Hello my loves. It's still March. Which means that I will be uploading information completely dedicated to endometriosis. I began this blog to share this data all year long. One of the main aspects of gaining some control over your endometriosis is to start with what you put into your body. There are certain foods that women with the condition should avoid. This list is also known as the "endo-diet. If this diet is followed as close as possible, it can decrease symptoms. Such as:

  • pelvic pain
  • constipation
  • hormonal imbalance
  • fatigue
  • bloating
  • bleeding between periods
  • heavy bleeding
Some of the foods that contribute to those symptoms are:
  • red meat
  • pork
  • dairy products
  • saturated and trans fat
  • alcohol
  • gluten
  • soy products
  • refined sugar
  • caffeine
  • processed food

The main objective in managing endometriosis naturally is to eat healthy. That's it. It does take time to see results, while changes occur overnight. Here is a list of foods that help ease endometriosis symptoms:

  • green leafy vegetables-which contains a lot of iron
  • food's rich in omega 3's
  • foods rich in antioxidants, such as blueberries, oranges, etc
  • lots of distilled, spring or PH water. You can make your own PH/alkaline water by adding a few drops of lemon or lime to water
  • legumes, nuts, seeds, and grains
  • ginger which is anti-inflammatory, and helps decrease ovarian cysts

These are just a few of the items to avoid and to be added to your diet. I guarantee that with the right research, you'll be more fulfilled with this way of eating. I also prefer to refer to the dietary changes as lifestyle changes. If you'd like to learn different recipes, check out more posts on this blog!
