Woman gives birth after being told she couldn't

After surviving a fire, Andrea was told that she wouldn't be able to carry a child past four months. Grant defeated the odds, by conceiving another child. Yes, you read correctly. She has given birth twice. The world is shocked. Yet, I'm not. That is the power of GOD. This should be inspiration to those who've been told the same.  Regardless of the diagnosing circumstances. You can donate to her cause at http://www.beyondscars.org/  Follow her on instagram @chillonmill.

Inaccurate tweets

Young man makes an inappropriate tweet. Regarding women's men trial cycles. He stated that, "tampons should not be free....women need to learn how to control their bladders".  Wow! Someone please give this kid a double lesson.  One in anatomy. The other I'm biology.

Woman has three watermelon sized ovarian cyst

Doctors were attempting to diagnose abnormal abdominal girth. The patient, a woman in her mid thirties.  Her physicians order an ultrasound. Which revealed an extremely large ovarian cyst. Stretching from her lungs to her pelvis. They we're beyond melon sized. These were pumpkin sized. Having no "known" serious illnesses or surgeries. Her medical history appeared to be normal. During the procedure. Doctors discover one giant cyst on her right ovary. Stretching from her sternum to her pelvis. With an ovarian cyst of this nature, an ooferectomy had to be performed. Which basically means he right ovary had to be removed. She did recover.

Yogurt replacement?

Recently I was speaking with a friend who's really getting into her health. She mentioned that makes smoothies often. Which is a great thing. Yet, when she told me the ingredients and and that she'd be experiencing a stomach ache. I couldn't hep but confirm what her mother thought. Being that she is an endometriosis sufferer.  Which causes her to be lactose intolerant.  She was using almond milk, but wasn't aware that Greek yogurt was still dairy. Even though it comes from a goat, it's still has the same effects as cow yogurt and other dairy products.
It's a mistake that I made years back. When trying to do the endometriosis diet.  I'm happy that she is aware now.  For all my sisters searching for an alternative.  There's coyo, a coconut based yogurt. In the U.S. Our brand is so delicious.  Also try almond yogurt, by almond dream.  They bother are really good.  Taste better than normal yogurt.  They do not have a nutty flavor either.  Give them a try!

Quick ginger shots! No juicer involved!

Using a mortar and pestle, grind ginger down to a pulp. Quick and simple. Make ginger shots on the go. Or even to add to juices. By far this is my favorite quick way to make ginger shots.  Can even be substituted with wheat grass.

*Ginger is great for the digestive system. As well as killing cancer cells

Dairy, Soy, & Egg Free Ranch Dressing

As you all know, I have various limitations when it comes to food. Ranch dressing was among those things. Until I discovered Daiya products. Walking down the aisle in an organic store, it stood out on the shelf.  It's been so many years since I've had ranch, that I thought I saw a unicorn.  Lol.  If you or a loved one has dairy, soy, or egg allergies, I highly recommend this item.

Local Farm Haul

While heading home, my parents came across a local farm. Naturally they stopped in. To satisfy their curiousity. They retrieved me some local yellow watermelon. Also a dozen fresh picked peaches. All of which were grown in Michigan.

Horror story: Moldy tampon

Woman visits her gynecologist to see if she had an infection. The gynecologic pathology department discovered that she had mold in her vagina and cervix. The young woman contacted the company.  Which sent her an apologetic letter. Basically stating that this can occur from time to time with their products. 😳

Spelt pasta

This dinner was inspired by a holistic Doctor.  He goes by the name of Dr. sebi.  Spelt, is one of the foods he does recommended.  Although he wouldn't approve of the broccoli (Sebi is very particular about what he believes to be hybrid foods, lol).
This quick easy and delicious spelt pasta was accompanied by broccoli. Then drizzled with a cashew, Daiya cheese sauce.

Lychee

As you all know, my summer affair with exotic fruits grows with each year. This year I was finally able to experience lychee.  A wild, Asian berry. That is also a member of the soapberry family. Which tastes really similar to the rambutan.  Only the seed in this is much more bitter. My taste buds were not disappointed with the ripe lychee overall though.

Broccoli Mac and cheese with

This delicious sandwich is the perfect blend of broccoli and cheese. A twist on the original grilled cheese. Come on, who doesn't enjoy broccoli and cheese together? Cashews were added to the cheese. As any legume can be made into cheese. On fresh baked bread. And a side of salt and vinegar chips paired heavenly.

At an event recently, one of the remarks she made was, "an amazing opportunity to go where the most exciting ideas come from".  She went on further to say, "because YouTube is the future of broadcasting".  People are assuming from those statements that she may be heading over to YouTube. She has been very open regarding her struggle with endometriosis. The link to the article on her experience with endometriosis--->http://goo.gl/ImIMuo.

Off switch for your period

There's a new device preparing to hit the stores.  For women who suffer from period aches.  The company is making very bold statements such as, "it eliminates period pain completely".  It's compact, and will be available in various fun, cute colors.  From what I'm gathering, it seems to work similar to a TENZ unit.  Based on the similarities, such as the gel electrode stickers.  Or how the device cable connects the unit.  The difference is the USB charger.  Plus the aesthics of course.   It has a sleek feminine appearance. Unlike a TENS unit.  Once this product debuts, a blog post with updated information on it will be posted.

Office chair and exercise ball?

For those of us with pelvic floor dysfunction, sitting can be a challenge?  Personally, I use my workout ball.  Which is suggested for those of us who need to strengthen our pelvic floor.  The ball is very comfortable.  Yet, it lacks height.  Now there is an office chair design specifically for a large exercise ball. This is a fantastic design.

Ugly fruit?

Standing out from its cousins in the citrus family by appearance.  The 'ugli' fruit is in a class of its own.  With its aromatic flavor and strong looks.  This could easily be passed up, by those who aren't familiar.  Once peeled, you'd easily mistake it for an orange.  One of Jamaica's hidden gems.

Champagne Mangoes

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a fruit lover.  I could eat fruit all day.  Mangoes have grown on me the past few years.  Yet these are the best ones I've ever had in my life.  They are champagne mangoes. They are delicious. Tender, juicy.  They literally melt in your mouth....  The texture is like butter.  You may not want a regular mango after trying these....

Michigan Endometriosis Awareness Meet-up!

Hey everyone. There's a new episode of my endometriosis diary. Which features a surprise! The first annual Michigan endometriosis meet-up!  As many of us have trouble walking long distances with the pain we experience.
We are meeting at the Detroit Renaissance center.  On April 16th at noon.
There's are items that can be purchased to show support.  Plus, a small gift will be given to anyone who participates.  So if you or anyone you know that suffers from endometriosis, that would like a permanent support group.  Please let them know about this event.  You can purchase items here: https://www.bonfirefunds.com/mi-endometriosis-diary-awareness-meet-up

Black water?

Yes ph balanced water. That happens to be black.  It tastes like the molasses I use for my menstrual cramps. Why? Our bodies operate optimally when our ph is between 6.5-8.  This helps us to fight disease. Give this drink a try.

Vegan lemon tart

If you avoid dairy, soy, and gluten.  Then you're aware of how difficult it is to find food.  Let alone snacks that are within the requirements. These lemon tarts can be found at whole foods. They are delicious and don't contain any egg.  Which is awesome for the "endo-diet".  They are small treats. That are perfect for people with food allergies. If you can have coconut, I advise you to try these.
